SN74ALS874BNSR Description
These dual 4-bit D-type edge-triggered flip-flops feature 3-state outputs designed specifically as bus drivers. They are particularly suitable for implementing buffer registers, I/O ports, bidirectional bus drivers, and working registers.
The edge-triggered flip-flops enter data on the low-to-high transition of the clock (CLK) input.
The SN54ALS874B have clear (CLR) inputs and noninverting Q outputs. The SN54ALS874B is characterized for operation over the full military temperature range of –55°C to 125°C.
Its ease of use, small form factor, independent control, and three-state outputs make it an attractive option for many circuit designs.
The device uses positive-edge clocking to transfer data from the input to output.
The latch is transparent, meaning if the enable signal is active, any changes to the input will immediately appear at the output.
The three-state output feature allows multiple devices to share a common bus without interfering with each other.
The device comes in a small SOIC package that is suitable for use in compact digital systems.
Overall, the SN74ALS874BNSR is a versatile and reliable storage device that has broad application across a range of digital systems. Its ease of use, small form factor, independent control, and three-state outputs make it an attractive option for many circuit designs.
